In four to five hours you move through the layers of Qatar: the heritage of the old market, the architecture that redefined the bay, the culture kept alive at Katara, and the waterfront districts where the country lives today.

National Museum of Qatar
Jean Nouvel designed the building as a cluster of interlocking discs drawn from the desert rose crystal, wrapped around the restored palace of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani.
Did you know
539 discs, and almost no straight walls inside — the galleries curve continuously for around 1.5 kilometres.

Souq Waqif
Traders have gathered beside this wadi for more than a century. After a fire the souq was rebuilt in the 2000s using mud render, exposed timber and traditional proportions.
